DTMD University graduation ceremony in Luxembourg

This year´s DTMD University graduation ceremony took place in Luxembourg on July 6, 2024. The President of DTMD University, Prof. Dr. André Reuter, and the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ralf Rössler, proudly welcomed the graduates of the study programmes Periodontology and Implantology 2021/2022, Orthodontics 2022, Doctorate in Advanced Medicine and Doctorate in Business Administration 2021 at the European Convention Center. They all have successfully completed their master's and doctoral programmes at DTMD University and were looking forward to celebrating in Luxembourg together with their families, friends, representatives and lecturers from DTMD and Trakia University. "The partnership with the state-recognized Trakia University in Bulgaria is absolutely unique and much more than just a merger of two universities. With their studies, students automatically gain access to an international university network of the best lecturers only," said dean Prof. Dr. Ralf Rössler.

Celebration and special honours
The official welcome was immediately followed by the founding of the affiliated institute and the conferrral of an honorary doctorate to Prof. Dr. Dobri Yarkov, DVM, Rector of Trakia University, followed by the ceremonial presentation of certificates and the award ceremony for the two best master theses. "It is absolutely unique to receive a certificate signed by two universities," said the proud students. A festive gala dinner with an exquisite gala dinner at Sofitel Luxembourg Europe Hotel was the grand finale of the day. The best master thesis in the fields of Orthodontics, Periodontology and Implantology were highlighted and honoured with a cheque of 500 €.

Highlights of the ceremony and speeches
A special highlight was the announcement of the donation of 20.000 € from DTMD University by Dean Prof. Dr. Ralf Rössler. The donation will be used for joint projects with Trakia University. Further highlights were the laudatory speeches by the President and the Dean of DTMD University and from two guests of honour Prof. Dr. Dobri Yarkov, DVM and Prof. Valentin Djonov about the successful cooperation between DTMD University and Trakia University.

Special honors

A special key moment was the award of a honorary doctorate (Doctor honoris causa) to the Rector of the Trakia University, Prof. Dr. Dobri Yarkov, DVM, and the award of an adjunct professorship in Implantology to Dr. Fred Bergmann. Both awards honoured the close and successful cooperation between both universities.

Feedback and outlook
Of particular importance was the presentation of the Doctorate in Advanced Medicine program at DTMD University, a part-time, postgraduate, interactive doctoral program based on the perfect combination of medical and management modules. With the well-known focus on highly efficient education and compact knowledge transfer in both - theory and practice, educated by the best of the best lecturers of the DTMD University.
Due to best feedback only the DTMD University can draw a positive résumé from a successful graduation ceremony and continues to pursue its expansion course with the aim of continuously developing international study programmes, in particular by integrating the global study location Dubai.
