Dr. Castroflorio obtained his DDS Degree from the University of Torino, Italy, in 1998; in 2001 he was certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics summa cum laude from the same University. In 2007 he obtained his PhD in Human Morphology from the University of Milan, Italy. In 2009 he completed a postgraduate course in Orofacial Pain at the University of New Jersey, USA.
He has served as a researcher and aggregate Professor of the Chair of Orthodontics and of the Specialization School of Orthodontics of the Dental School of the University of Torino, Torino, Italy. Between 2019 and 2022 he has been the educational and clinical coordinator of the Specialization School of Orthodontics of the University of Torino. Moving to private practice he has kept research interests focused on the biology of orthodontic tooth movement, aligner orthodontics predictability, orthodontic materials, sleep and awake bruxism.
He is author or co-author of more than 100 publications on peer-review journals, national dental journals and of chapters of books, and member of the Editorial Board of Progress in Orthodontics, Seminar in Orthodontics, Cranio and the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics. He has lectured in Europe, Asia and America since 2014.
He is an active member of the Angle Society, North Atlantic Component and European Board of Aligner Orthodontics (EBAO) certified orthodontist.
Dr. Castroflorio is an active member of the Italian Society of Orthodontics (SIDO), member of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), International member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO).
He is a founding member and past-president of the European Aligner Society (EAS).
His private practice is located in Torino, Italy.
